Gareth Bale surprised his old school in Cardiff on Monday with an impromptu visit to film a video about his roots for his new club Los Angeles FC.
The Wales captain, 32, was understood to be in talks over a move to his hometown club Cardiff City in recent weeks, however eventually decided to jet off to start a new adventure in California, signing a one-year contract with the MLS club.
Bale announced his decision with a social media post on Saturday night, donning the LAFC cap and playing shirt in a short video which appeared to have been filmed outside Hensol Castle, where both Wales and Cardiff City train.

And on Tuesday he was off filming again, this time at his old stomping ground at Whitchurch High. It is understood the former Real Madrid star was recording a video on his upbringing and footballing journey for his new club. Parts of the video were also recorded around other areas of Cardiff.
One of Bale's old schoolmates called ahead to make sure it was OK for the footballer to come and do some filming at the school and, of course, Whitchurch High were only too willing to oblige for one of their greatest-ever alumnus.
Bale arrived at the school at around 6pm, when he met with some of the children who had been on an athletics day out and some who had been rugby training.
It had been nearly five years since Bale last visited the school, when he donated a Real Madrid shirt to accompany the Tottenham and Southampton shirts he had already given to them.
A member of staff at the school told WalesOnline Bale was typically humble and was more than willing to speak to the students who were there and was generous with his time, posing for photographs and offering snippets of advice to the next generation coming through.
