Gareth Bale rescued Wales again with a dramatic late penalty to earn a point on their emotional World Cup return after 64 years.
Bale won and converted the 82nd-minute penalty which earned Rob Page’s side a deserved draw to give them every chance of reaching the knockout stage.
Star player Bale, who has hardly played this season for Los Angeles FC, showed he remains the man for the big occasion and then paid tribute to the character of the Wales side. “It’s an amazing feeling to get off the mark personally, but we would much rather have had the three points,” said Bale.
