A number of scam texts have been doing the rounds as gardai have issued a warning.
Fraudsters have been stealing money and information from unsuspecting people by sending texts purporting to be from various Government services including Revenue and An Post. These texts will usually contain a link to a website which will ask you for personal information and bank details.
A garda spokesperson said on the Meath Crime Prevention Facebook group: "Just a reminder of some of the scam texts still doing the rounds. Please remember never to click on the link contained in such texts and always delete on receipt.
"If you have responded to such a text or paid the scammers, contact your bank immediately and report the matter to your local Garda Station."

Another text pretending to be from An Post reads: "Your package has a €4.90 pending fee. To pay this visit [fake An Post website]. Please note: If this is not paid the package will be returned."
