A suspect who attempted to flee the scene of an armed robbery in a taxi has been arrested by gardai.
The shocking incident unfolded on St Patrick’s Day in Dublin, when a man armed with a weapon entered a business on Collinswood Avenue near Beaumont at around 3.45pm.
He threatened staff members and stole a number of items before leaving the scene in a taxi.

In a follow-up search, gardai stopped a taxi on the Swords Road and the suspect attempted to flee on foot.
A man aged in his late 30s was arrested and a number of items stolen from the premises were located.
The man was taken to Clontarf Garda Station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
He has since been charged in relation to the robbery and is due to appear before a special sitting of Criminal Courts of Justice on Friday morning.
Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
A spokesperson said: “Gardai in Clontarf have arrested one man following an armed robbery that occurred at a business premises on Collinswood Avenue, Dublin 9 on the afternoon of Thursday, March 17, 2022.
“At approximately 3.45p.m. yesterday afternoon a lone male entered the business premises on Collinswood Avenue armed with a weapon and threatened the staff members.
“He left the scene in a taxi with a number of items from the premises. In a follow up search gardai stopped a taxi on Swords Road and the suspect attempted to make his escape on foot.
“Gardaí arrested one man (late 30s) and a number of items stolen from the premises were located. He was taken to Clontarf Garda station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.”
The incident happened during St Patrick's Day in Dublin, when an estimated 400,000 people descended on the capital for the national parade.
