Gardai in Sligo are seeking information from the public in regards to eggs and stones being thrown at cars.
The incidents have taken place in the Collooney area of the county.
An Garda Siochana in Sligo and Leitrim have issued a statement on their Facebook page about moving vehicles being hit with stones and eggs in Collooney.
They have warned of the “serious risk of injury” to drivers and passengers.
The statement said: “In addition to damaging vehicles such incidents pose a serious risk of injury to motorists and passengers alike.
“Such incidents can lead to endangerment as defined under Section 13 of The Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person's Act 1997. This offence carries a maximum penalty of 7 years imprisonment or a fine or both.”
They are investigating a number of incidents, but are particularly interested to hear from anyone who was in Collooney village between 8pm and 9pm on Sunday, January 16.
“An Garda Síochána are investigating these matters and are appealing to anyone who may have information to make contact with them,” they said.
