Gardai have warned the public about the risks of drug driving with shocking images of a recent Kildare crash.
The recent collision occurred on the Sallins Link Road and involved a car and a van. The Naas Roads Policing Unit attended the crash.
Gardai confirmed on Twitter that the incident involved drug driving and led to an arrest. They reported that one driver failed the new Drugwipe roadside test, which was launched in early December.

The test is taken orally and can detect drugs, such as amphetamines, that did not show up on previous roadside tests. Gardai confirmed in the Tweet that prosecution would result from the incident.
A Garda spokesperson told Dublin Live that no further information could be given at this time. It is unknown whether injuries occurred as a result of the incident.
Meanwhile, a recent crash in Santry caused serious damage to a local bus stop. Gardai were notified of a collision involving an unaccompanied learner driver, which led to the car being impounded. The driver now faces a court appearance.
