Gardai are looking to reunite a corn snake with its owner after it was discovered in Sandymount.
The slippery customer was found in Landsowne Village in Sandymount on Friday night, and it certainly came as a surprise to gardai. Corn snakes are native to the US, but they are growing in popularity here, due to their size, docile nature and colourful bright red and orange markings.
Corn snakes typically grow to a size of 120 cm to 190cmand live for between 10 and 15 years. Corn snakes are great escape artists, so it's likely that the exotic animal escaped from its owner.

Gardai tweeted: "Irishtown Garda Station rescued this corn snake last night from Lansdowne Village in Sandymount. If you have any information that could assist in reuniting this snake with its owner, please contact Irishtown Garda Station at 01 666 9600."
