Gardai found €100,000 worth of cannabis after two speeding scrambler riders dropped their shopping bags.
The incident happened in Lucan yesterday, when gardai from Ronanstown spotted the speeding pair on the bikes and approached them. The two riders fled as they noticed officers approaching, but they dropped their shopping bags as they sped away.
Gardai recovered the bags and found the drugs inside smaller, vacuum-sealed bags. The drugs have been sent for examination, and a garda spokeswoman confirmed to Dublin Live that no arrests have been made.
The spokeswoman added: "As part of Operation Tara, Gardai in Ronanstown have seized €100,000 worth of cannabis. While on patrol in Lucan yesterday, gardai observed two persons driving at speed on scramblers.

"Both suspected offenders fled the scene when gardai approached the area, dropping two shopping bags on the roadside as they fled. Gardai recovered vacuum sealed bags inside the shopping bags, containing €100,000 worth of cannabis.
"The drugs have been seized and will be subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland. Investigations are ongoing."
