Gardai ask public to not share footage of fatal assault of Aaron Keating in Ongar

Gardai have appealed to people to not share the footage of the fatal assault of Aaron Keating in west Dublin on social media.

Keating, 40s, was stabbed to death in the horrific incident on Main Street in Ongar on Tuesday evening. A male teenager was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently detained at a garda station in west Dublin.

The post-mortem has been conducted but the results will not be released for operational reasons, a garda spokesman said. The teenager being quizzed about the incident handed himself into a garda station this morning.

It is understood that a verbal row between Keating and a group of young men ended in Keating being stabbed. The garda spokesman said: "Gardai are continuing to appeal for any persons with information in relation to this incident to come forward and any road users with video footage (including dash cam) are asked to make this available to them.
