Gardai have arrested two men after they entered a number of fast food outlets in Newbridge wielding a knife and threatening staff.
Officers confirmed that the first incident occurred around 8:30 pm when they received a report of the two men entering a business on Eyre Street.
A Garda spokesperson said they threatened staff with their weapon while "demoing cash".

The second incident happened a short time later when gardai were alerted to another robbery on Charlotte Street in Newbridge.
They rushed to the scene and upon their arrival, arrested two men, one in his 40s and another in his 20s.
They are both now in custody as investigations continue.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed: “Gardaí have arrested two men following the armed robberies of two fast food outlets in Newbridge yesterday, Monday 27th March 2023.
“At approximately 8:30 pm, Gardaí received a report of an incident where two men entered a fast food outlet on Eyre Street, Newbridge, and threatened staff members with a knife while demoing cash.
“A short time later, Gardaí were alerted to a robbery at a fast food outlet on Charlotte Street, Newbridge. Upon arrival, Gardaí arrested two men, one aged in his 40s and the other in his 20s.
“Both men are currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda station in Co. Kildare”.
Investigations are ongoing.
