Gardai have issued an appeal to the public for information following a brutal attack in Co Cork on Wednesday evening as one man remains critical in hospital.
The horrific incident occurred in the early evening of December 28, when a man in his 20s was discovered on a road with injuries.
He was rushed to Cork University Hospital where Gardaí say he remains in critical condition.

A teenager was taken into custody after the incident and remains at Togher Garda Station for questioning.
Gardaí are appealing to any person who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.
Anyone who was in the vicinity of Glenwood Estate, Carrigaline, between 5:00 pm and 5:45 pm yesterday evening Wednesday, December 28, 2022, is asked to contact gardai.
They are particularly interested in speaking with any road users who may have camera footage (including dash cam) of the incident.

In an update this morning, a garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí at Togher are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault that occurred at Glenwood Estate, Carrigaline, Cork on Wednesday evening December 28, 2022.
“The assault is understood to have happened at approximately 5:45 pm. A man, aged in his late 20s, was found on the roadway with injuries.
“He was taken to Cork University Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
“A man (late teens) has since been arrested and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Togher Garda station.
“Gardaí are appealing to any person who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.”
