Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man in his 40s was killed in a car crash in County Meath this Saturday afternoon.
The fatal road collision, involving a single vehicle, occurred on the R154 at Piercetown near Dunboyne around 2.30pm.
An ambulance moved the man from the scene to a hospital in Dublin, where he was later pronounced dead.

A technical examination led by the Garda Forensics Collisions Investigators is taking place at the scene, with road closures and diversions in place.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Dunboyne, County Meath on Saturday, 24th June, 2023. The single vehicle collision occurred on the R154 at Piercetown near Dunboyne at approximately 2:30pm."
They informed that the driver was the sole occupant of the car and was removed from the scene by Ambulance to St James’s Hospital, Dublin where he was later pronounced dead.
"The scene is currently closed to traffic to facilitate a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place," a spokesperson said.
Gardaí in Ashbourne are appealing to any person who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.
"Any road users who were travelling in on the R154 near Dunboyne at the time of the collision who may have camera footage (including dash cam), is asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
"Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to contact Ashbourne Garda Station on 01 8010600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station," a garda spokesperson added.
