An Garda Siochana’s investigation into the death of a 20-year-old man in Finglas this morning after a fatal shooting is well underway this evening.
Gardaí and emergency services rushed to the scene at Deanstown Avenue at approximately 4:30 am on Sunday.
The young man was discovered with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The body was taken from the scene and a post mortem examination has been concluded this evening by Chief State Pathologist Dr. Linda Mulligan, at the City Morgue, Whitehall.
Officers have confirmed that specific details of the post mortem will not be released for operational reasons.
A statement released by officers this evening said: “The scene remains preserved and technical examinations are ongoing by the Garda Technical Bureau.
“An Garda Síochána has appointed a family liaison officer to the family of the deceased and continues to engage with the family at this time.”
Gardaí are now appealing for anyone with information on this fatal shooting to contact investigating Gardaí at Finglas Garda Station.
The statement continued: “An Garda Síochána are also appealing for any person in the area of Deanstown Avenue, Deanstown Green, Deanstown Road, Cardiffsbridge Road, Dublin 11 or any adjacent/ surrounding roads between 9.00 pm Saturday 2nd April and 04.30 am on Sunday 3rd April 2022, particularly the drivers of any vehicle or other roads users who may have video footage (Dashcam or other form) to contact investigating Gardaí.
