The new Garda trainee recruitment campaign is now live on Public Jobs for interested candidates.
Details of the recruitment drive were announced last week. The news emerges as An Garda Siochana attempts to meet a 15,000 member target set by government.
Garda trainees can expect a basic wage of €184 per week for the 33 week period before they are sworn in. Successful trainees are then awarded a salary of €34,572.00 on the pay scale.

The "It's a Job Worth Doing" campaign is live until April 14. The first stage of the selection process involves a series of online tests, which should be taken via laptop or PC, until the deadline date.
Candidates will receive further details of the selection process pending the success of their online tests. Applicants should also consider the eligibility factors laid out for the role on the job description.
These include being over 18 but under 35 years of age by midnight on April 14. Candidates must also complete a physical competence test and have their health certified by a registered medical practitioner. However, eligibility for the role of trainee Garda won't be assessed until further on in the recruitment process.
