Gap is expanding into a new accessories category with the debut of GapBag, a handbag collection designed by Reed Krakoff, Gap Inc.'s Executive Director of Accessories. Announced September 1, the Fall 2026 collection reinterprets recognizable Gap silhouettes, fabrics and design details, including five-pocket denim and the brand's classic Arch Logo hoodie.
The collection will launch online at gap.com on September 8, with selected styles also becoming available at Gap stores across North America and in international markets. The launch is scheduled ahead of New York Fashion Week, when Gap will present a GapBag pop-up at Channel Gardens at Rockefeller Center from September 10 through September 13.
Five-Pocket Denim and Hoodie Details Shape the Collection
GapBag centers on five silhouettes: the Five-Pocket Tote, Hoodie Tote, Favorite Tote, Crescent Bag and Shoulder Bag. The designs use references drawn from Gap's existing apparel, translating familiar construction details and materials into handbags and related accessories.
The Five-Pocket Tote takes its design cues from Gap denim. According to the brand, the style incorporates details including belt loops, denim hardware and five-pocket stitching, and is available in different denim washes as well as canvas and faux suede. The silhouette comes in three tote sizes, alongside satchel and crossbody versions.

The Hoodie Tote references Gap's Arch Logo Hoodie through elements including hoodie ribbing and a drawstring closure. It is made from Gap's signature fleece with a neoprene lining and comes in three sizes, as well as a pouch.
The Favorite Tote is offered in three sizes and comes in a range of canvas colorways and prints. The Crescent Bag is available in denim and faux suede, while the Shoulder Bag is offered as an oversized style in denim and faux suede.
Alongside the handbags, Gap is introducing additional accessories including charms, keychains, scarves and belts. The company says these pieces are intended to complement the new handbag assortment.
Reed Krakoff Directs Gap's New Accessories Category
The Fall 2026 GapBag collection is the first to launch under Krakoff's direction as Gap Inc.'s Executive Director of Accessories. Gap says Krakoff drew from the company's archives while applying his experience in accessories design to recognizable elements of the brand.
Krakoff is a three-time recipient of the CFDA Accessories Designer of the Year award, according to Gap. In the company's announcement, Gap Brand President and CEO Mark Breitbard said the collection extends Gap's heritage into accessories through design, quality and accessible value.
Gap lists prices for the core GapBag assortment from $29.95 to $148. A limited-edition patchwork denim version of the Five-Pocket Tote will be priced at $498.
GapBag Arrives Ahead of New York Fashion Week
The GapBag launch will extend beyond the online and retail rollout with a four-day activation at Rockefeller Center. Gap will host the pop-up at Channel Gardens from September 10 through September 13, featuring the Five-Pocket Tote and on-site customization.
The company also says Encore members will receive early access on September 10, while cardmembers can receive priority entry by reserving through Encore Market. Additional member perks and a gift-with-purchase offer are also planned for the event.
With the GapBag collection, Gap is formally extending several of its established apparel references into handbags and accessories. The full Fall 2026 collection will be available at gap.com beginning September 8, followed by selected styles at North American Gap stores and in international markets including Japan, Vietnam, Mexico, Australia, the United Kingdom and countries across Europe and the Middle East.
