Gang used homes as safe house for £1.8million drug enterprise

Two men have been jailed for their part in an estimated £1.8 million drug enterprise.

Both Dale Schofield and Wayne Roberts allowed crack cocaine, heroin and cash to be kept in their houses for an organised crime group that dealt drugs from Ellesmere Port to Wirral, Greater Manchester and Scotland. Schofield, of Alverstone Road in Mossley Hill and Roberts, of East Float Quay in Wallasey, were using their homes as safe houses on behalf of the gang’s ring-leader Mark Cavanagh.

Cavanagh, of Foxdene in Ellesmere Port, was running a drug dealing enterprise that saw him selling an estimated 25kg to 50kg of class A drugs. At Chester Crown Court, in June 2020 Cavanagh was sentenced to 14 years and six months for his part in the drug dealing.
