A gang of kids were spoken to by police after breaking into a former Argos and cannabis farm.
Merseyside Police were called to the former Argos store on Walton Road on Tuesday afternoon (January 3) following reports of activity in the building. Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were also called to the scene after a smell of smoke was reported from the former shop.
Once emergency services arrived they found a group of kids had broken into the building. The fire service were stood down after they arrived at the scene as no fire was found.

Police said the gang were spoken to by officers and no arrests were made at the scene. The gang were told to move on.
A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: "The police presence at the former Argos store, on Walton Road, was to do with a group of youths who had broken into the building. Officers attended and spoke with the youths. No arrests were made."
A spokesperson from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said: "There had been a report of a smell of smoke coming from the building but when we searched the premises, there was no sign of fire."
In November 2021 police discovered a cannabis farm inside the former Argos store. There were 385 plants spread out over two floors.
One woman, who lives in the area, said on Facebook it "stinks to high heaven when you walk past". The cannabis plants were seized by police along with a large quantity of cannabis which was found drying out inside the building.
