A gang has been linked to house break-ins following a series of incidents in Ayrshire on Friday night.
The brazen group of four men were first spotted at around 6.25pm scoping out a property on Saltcoats' Montgomerie Crescent.
A woman within her home spotted the gang in her driveway inspecting vehicles and the house itself. They did not gain entry to the house.
A house on Kilwinning's Glenbervie Drive was broken into around 7.20pm and when neighbours approached the property, four men sprinted off.
A home on Manse Street in Saltcoats was then broken into between 5pm and 8pm and a four-figure sum of cash was stolen.
Police now believe that the same gang is responsible for the series of incidents and are now appealing for information.
Detective Sergeant Peter Sweeney said: “We believe that the same four men are responsible for these incidents and a number of enquiries are ongoing to identify and trace them.
“They were all wearing dark-coloured clothing and may have been using an Audi estate car.
“I would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious, or who has any information that may assist this investigation to contact us. We are also keen to obtain any dash-cam or personal footage too. Anyone with information should contact 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
