North East leisure group Bob Rudd has bounced back from the pandemic and returned to profit, new accounts show.
The Newcastle firm - which provides gaming and amusement equipment to pubs and clubs - has seen its turnover reach £8.6m in the year to May 31, 2022. That compared to a figure of £2.7m a year earlier, while an operating loss of £32,600 was turned into profit of £852,000.
The company reported the highest turnover in its 30-year history and said it had invested heavily in premium digital gaming machines. It said its Clear Cool division - which supplies bottle coolers, glass washers and ice makers - was growing and was also finding new opportunities in the retail sector. Now the company is targeting further growth, saying that it had taken on two business analysts in a bid to use data to maximise future revenues.
