Weiss mentioned on the 'Happy Sad Confused' podcast that they had nearly completed the story for the first movie and had outlined plans for the subsequent two films in the trilogy. He expressed regret over the missed opportunity to work on Star Wars, acknowledging that not all projects come to fruition in Hollywood.
