A pill which stops people from getting a hangover according to its creators has launched in the UK today, Monday 4 July.
Myrkl is a vegan food supplement that works by breaking down alcohol before it reaches the liver and is broken down into acetaldehyde, which contributes to the symptoms of a hangover. The bacteria, amino acid L-Cysteine and vitamin B12 in the supplement turns alcohol into water and carbon dioxide, according to experts behind the invention.
Swedish creators De Faire Medical say that the pill, which they claim is the first of its kind in history, was invented back in 1990 but scientists have spent more than 30 years perfecting it. Myrkl is said to break down up to 70% of alcohol consumed after just one hour, WalesOnline reports.
