A young GAA star has been remembered as a "brilliant player" by RTE GAA commentator Marty Morrissey following her tragic death.
Kate Moran, 20, suffered a fatal head injury during a collision while playing camogie for Athenry against Ardrahan on Easter Monday.
The match was abandoned before Kate was taken to University Hospital Galway by ambulance. She was in intensive care overnight but passed away on Tuesday.

Paying tribute, Marty Morrissey told RTE Radio 1's Morning Ireland that Kate was a "brilliant camogie player", whose family are steeped in GAA.
He said: "Our deepest sympathies go to Kate Moran's family. Cathal [Kate's dad] was part of the Athenry team that won the All-Ireland Club Championship in 1997, 2000 and 2001. Kate was a brilliant camogie player. She won two All-Ireland U16 medals.
"Our deepest sympathies to her brother Thady and her sisters Leah and Saoirse following this accidental collision in a camogie match in Ardrahan.
"And our hearts go out to everyone in Athenry - all the community - because they will be heartbroken over this very unfortunate accident and we pass on our sympathies to the Moran family."
Kate, who was from Monivea, was an integral part of the Galway U16 teams who won back-to-back All-Ireland titles against Kilkenny in 2016 and Wexford in 2017.
Kate was also on the minor team who lost to Cork in the 2018 final and as a sign of respect to Kate and her family, Galway Camogie has postponed all games this week.
Councillor Albert Dolan, who attended national and secondary school with Kate, said the tragedy has come as a “massive shock to the community”.
He told the Irish Mirror: “I don’t think there are any words to express just how terrible this must be for Kate’s family. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family."
Councillor Shelly Quinn added the whole of Athenry is “deeply saddened by the news”.
She said: “It has taken all of us by shock. The GAA game ended in catastrophic results for Kate and it was a tragic accident.
“Galway Camogie is one of the biggest GAA clubs in the country and there will be a massive community response to this devastating tragedy. Kate was taken far too soon and our thoughts and sincerest condolences go out to the Moran family.”
