An environmental group is pushing on with plans for a new base in the Stewartry.
The Galloway and Southern Ayrshire UNESCO Biosphere is currently celebrating its first decade.
And it is has now appointed architects for its plans for sustainable office space in the biosphere community of Dalry.
Prospus Group, which has a base in Dumfries, has been handed the role with the design and planning process getting fully under way in 2023.
Chair of the biosphere’s partnership board, Melanie Allen, said: “Prospus Group work with multi-sector clients across the UK delivering innovative and environmentally sustainable designs – exactly what our amazing team needs as the biosphere moves into its second decade.
“We are very much looking forward to working alongside Prospus Group architects with the ongoing support of South of Scotland Enterprise, which has been absolutely key in seeing the office project progress.”
The architects will create a low carbon working space that is sympathetic to the local landscape and an asset to the local community.
In 2020, the biosphere was awarded £1.9 million by South of Scotland Enterprise to support the next five years of its
work, including the development of the new base.
