Every year for the past two decades, thousands of representatives from the biggest tech firms have flown in from all corners of the planet to Barcelona for MWC — Mobile World Congress — a jamboree that presents the tech of tomorrow.
Part trade show and part policy discussion, the event is a mainstay in the tech calendar. And despite depleted numbers from the Middle East as a result of flight disruption stemming from the US and Israeli bombing of Iran (one Dubai company discreetly explained to me its stand wasn’t fully stocked because half the equipment was stuck on the tarmac back home), this year was no different.
