Gabriel Jesus reveals reason behind Arsenal celebration with Instagram message to Vinicius Jr

Arsenal talisman Gabriel Jesus has broken his silence on his celebration against Brentford after netting the second goal in a 3-0 win.

The Brazilian brilliantly headed the Gunners into a 2-0 first-half lead from Granit Xhaka's cross. Celebrating his fourth goal of the season, he paid tribute to Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Jr - who has been in the headlines this week.

Los Blancos' Champions League final hero was a target of a racial slur from agent Pedro Bravo who criticised the forward this week during a discussion on Spanish television show El Chiringuito, where the Brazilian was told that "in Spain, you have to respect rivals and stop playing the monkey."

The 22-year-old has since vowed to continue to celebrate in that manner whenever he finds the back of the net and since he has received support from fellow professional footballers, including his Brazil teammate, Jesus.

He took to Instagram to share his support for Vinicius, he posted: "Baila y Baila @vinijr [Dance and Dance]". Arsenal teammates Bukayo Saka and Gabriel also commented on the post in support of the Real Madrid star.

Speaking to Sky Sports following their win, Jesus said: "From the start we showed what we want to do in the game, create chances and score. That is what I believe we did.

"He found me for the goal and I am so happy to play with him, he is an intelligent and quality player. The celebration was for my guy Vinicius Jnr, it needs to stop and it was for him."

Jesus has been omitted from Tito's squad ahead of the upcoming internationals but is expected to feature at this winter's World Cup in Qatar. In the meantime, Vinicius is set to feature against Atletico Madrid before embarking on international duty with Selecao Brasileira.
