Gabriel Jesus reveals Arsenal dressing room reaction after slipping up against Man Utd

Gabriel Jesus has lifted the lid on Arsenal's 'frustrated' dressing room following their deflating 3-1 defeat to Manchester United.

The Gunners put in an exciting attacking performance at Old Trafford on Sunday but were undone defensively after Mikel Arteta decided to go for broke late on. Marcus Rashford scored twice to end Arsenal's 100 per cent start to the Premier League season, having won their previous five games.

Jesus and co drew level on the hour mark after Bukayo Saka cancelled out a first-half goal from United's £85million signing, Antony. But the Gunners quickly blew their chances of at least salvaging a draw and were 3-1 down 15 minutes after equalising, leaving Jesus and his teammates to lament their first slip-up of the new term inside the dressing room.

"The feeling is frustration because we controlled the game and the first two goals we conceded, we were better than them," the Brazilian striker claimed post-match. "So we are not happy because, in my opinion, we could have won because we play so much better.

"But that's football. If you don't go there and kill, you are going to have a big problem - and that's what happened. Now is the time to learn from it and improve. We are doing so well this season, but there are still things to improve for everyone, as individuals and as a team."

Despite only being 25, Jesus is one of the more experienced members of Arsenal's squad due to already boasting five years of elite pedigree on his CV thanks to his time at Manchester City. He's now hoping to help guide the Gunners back to winning ways, as Arteta's side travel to Zurich on Thursday to get their Europa League campaign underway.

"If you look at our team you can see we are still young. It's the youngest team in the league, in the toughest league in the world," the former City star added. "We have to stick together, improve as a team and don't think about this one.

"This one is gone. We have to do better next time. We are playing so well, so good, but no one is perfect. No team in the world is perfect and but I think now it is our challenge to improve a lot of things - and come back strong."

Jesus' manager echoed his sentiments, having been asked if there were positives to take from the defeat in Manchester. "Yeah, but it's difficult to see it now because we are all disappointed," Arteta admitted. "We put so much into this game and are really pleased with the effort and the quality the boys showed today but we need to move on to the next one."
