Gabriel Jesus has posted a picture of himself back kicking a football on the training field as Arsenal fans eagerly await his return from injury.
The talented forward has been sidelined with a knee injury ever since he suffered medial ligament damage against Cameroon during Brazil's World Cup campaign towards the end of November. Jesus arrived at the Emirates Stadium during last summer's transfer window, joining from Manchester City and he hit the ground running in north London, netting five goals and providing a further five assists from just 14 Premier League outings.
Now, the player himself has taken to social media to update supporters on his rehabilitation process, posting a picture where he can be seen playing with a ball at the club's London Colney training base. "Step by step", his Tweet read, alongside multiple emojis before the hashtags of "alômãe" and "gratidão", which roughly translate to "hello mother" and "gratitude", the former of which refers to his iconic phone call celebration to his mother.

This comes after football.london reported on Monday evening that the Gunners were hopeful of having the 25-year-old back in the squad before next month's international break. Arsenal have six matches before players head off with their respective nations, with a home fixture against Crystal Palace on March 16 their last game before the brief break in club action.
"He’s progressing well," Arteta said when asked about Jesus' recovery last week. "Doing more and more on the field.
"The knee’s not reacting so it’s really positive. We want him back as quick as possible, but also respecting the timescale that the doctors and the specialists are giving us."
