Gabriel Jesus’ transfer to Arsenal has been given the “here we go” stamp of approval from journalist Fabrizio Romano. The Manchester City forward has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates this summer.
The Brazilian would put an end to the issue of finding a forward before pre-season has begun, allowing focus to switch to other targets. The reporter states that the move will cost roughly £45million, with personal terms fully agreed to.
The contract that is set to be signed is a five-year deal, taking him until 2027. Mikel Arteta will be hopeful that Jesus can put an end to any concern when it comes to goal scoring for the upcoming season.

The signing was prompted after the loss of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, leaving a void further up the pitch. While Eddie Nketiah signed a new long-term deal, the lack of options had to be addressed.
Add to that the struggles of the strikers in front of goal in the previous campaign, with goals coming from all over the squad. While that may be a positive, the absence of a standout finisher may have proven costly in the top four race.
On the need for a striker, Arteta said: “He puts the ball in the net – that’s priority number one. Goal threat. Any successful team needs enough goal threat in the squad. Without it, you have nothing.
“You can play good football, but you need enough goal threat in the team. The other thing is that he has to complement the other people we have, personally and on the pitch. We need the right profile.”
And in Gabriel Jesus, it appears that the Spaniard has found the ideal player for the forward role.
