Gabriel Jesus' agent breaks silence on potential Arsenal transfer amid 'project' admission

The agent of Gabriel Jesus has admitted that he is in talks with Arsenal regarding a potential summer transfer for his client.

Mikel Arteta's side are keen to sign at least one centre-forward at the end of the current campaign, football.london understands given both Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette are into the final eight weeks of their respective contracts at the Emirates Stadium. football.london understands that City frontman is one name on the club's shortlist of profiles to replace the aforementioned duo whilst technical director Edu has been in talks with the player's representatives.

Now, Jesus' agent, Marcelo Pettinati has spoken about the future of his client, admitting that the Gunners are indeed keen to sign the 25-year-old before claiming that there are six other clubs interested in the Brazilian international "We had talks with Arsenal about Gabriel Jesus, we like the project - it’s a possibility we’re discussing," Pettinati told transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

“There are six more clubs interested in Gabriel - he’s focused on final games with Man City, we’ll see." Jesus has struggled for consistent game time under Pep Guardiola's tutelage this term, starting just 26 games across all competitions.

Despite his erratic minutes, the former Palmeiras striker has still managed to net 13 goals and provide a further nine assists - an impressive feat when you consider that he has regularly been deployed on the flanks at times this season. City announced that they had signed Norwegian star Erling Haaland on Tuesday evening, a move that would mean even less game time for Jesus if he opted to stay at the Etihad beyond this summer.
