Gabby Agbonlahor has berated Anthony Gordon for the way he left Everton last week. Newcastle United forked out £45million to lure the 21-year-old away from Goodison Park.
A move had been on the cards for a while, with the Magpies expressing interest in the summer. Chelsea were also keen on the winger but Newcastle landed their man for a big-money fee at the weekend.
In the days leading up to his transfer, Gordon missed three days of training as his Toon move inched closer. ChronicleLive understands one of those was a pre-agreed absence but the decision did not sit well with Everton fans.

A section of Toffees supporters had previously barricaded Gordon’s car and told him “he isn’t fit to wear the shirt” after a recent home defeat to Southampton. This proved to be the England under-21 international’s last game for the Merseyside outfit.
Former Aston Villa striker Agbonlahor has hit out at Gordon for how he treated his boyhood club. Speaking to talkSPORT, the ex-striker referenced his own career when criticising the "unforgivable" Newcastle new boy.
“I didn't like it (Gordon’s exit) one bit. He has been at Everton since he was 11, similar to me at Aston Villa. When I was 21, it wouldn't be my dream to force through a move.
“I understand players want to move, better themselves and win trophies,” Agbonlahor said. “Leave that to your agent to do behind the scenes. You turn up to training. Everton have made you what you are through their youth setup. (They) gave you your debut. You become who you are, because of Everton.
“When the going gets tough, don't not turn up to training. I know you've not been playing under Lampard recently, it can be frustrating. Maybe the movie is good for Everton and good for Anthony Gordon. Everton got £45 million but, to not turn up for training, to me, was unforgivable.”
