KOTDWAR(UTTARAKHAND): The home of Gabbar Singh Negi in Lalpani witnessed jubilation on Tuesday night as news of the safe evacuation of 41 workers, including Gabbar Singh, trapped at Sikyara tunnel reached his anxious family.
Singh, lauded by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for boosting the morale of fellow workers during the 17-day rescue operation, played a crucial role in communicating updates about their health to Dhami whenever the chief minister spoke with the trapped workers.
As the news of their rescue spread, Singh's relatives celebrated by clapping, lighting diyas, and bursting firecrackers, marking a belated Diwali celebration. The tunnel collapse had disrupted their Diwali festivities earlier.
