GAA vote overwhelmingly for revamped All-Ireland Football Championship in 2023

There will be a new revamped Championship in 2023 as Congress voted overwhelmingly in favour for change.

The eight provincial finalists will now compete in the All-Ireland series alongside the next best eight teams based on league structure.

The sixteen teams will be placed into groups of four and will compete in a round-robin with group winners going to the quarter-finals and the teams in second and third will compete for the other spots.

The other 16 teams will enter the Tailteann Cup and each team are guaranteed four matches minimum.

The motion was voted in by a staggering 94.7 percent while the National League and Provincial Championship remain.
