The Mayo GAA community is devastated after the sudden death of a young man.
Oisín Caldwell sadly passed away on Thursday, June 16, in his home in Dunshaughlin, Co Meath.
Since his passing, tributes have poured in for the young man and the Mayo GAA also offered their sincere condolences as Oisín’s uncle and his cousins are members of the Claremorris GAA club.

The club shared on Facebook: “Claremorris GAA wish to express their sincere sympathy to Jakki and Des Caldwell (nee Cosgrove, Loughanemon) and their extended family on the sudden passing of their son, Oisín in Dunshaughlin, Co Meath.
“Oisín’s uncle, Martin Cosgrove, coaches under 13's, his cousins Evan Campbell, Shauna, David and Brian Cosgrove and Jamie Conroy all play underage with Claremorris GAA club. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.”
The community also paid tribute to Oisín on RIP.ie as many sent their condolences to the family and friends.
One said: “My sincere sympathies to the Caldwell family and friends at this difficult time. Oisin was such a kind man and his memory will live on forever. Rest in perfect peace Oisin.”
Another one added: “Deepest Sympathy to Dessie, Jakki, Mark , Jack , Jamie and all family and friends. Oisin was a pleasure to have known and an amazing friend to anyone who knew him.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. May he Rest in Peace.”
A third one wrote: “I was so very shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden and untimely death of Oisín. I remember him well from his days in DCC.
“To Jakki, Dessie, Mark, Michelle and Jack, I hope you will take comfort from knowing that Oisín made his mark in the world, and will never be forgotten by all who knew him. Happy trails, Oisín.”
Funeral mass will be held tomorrow, Tuesday June 21, at St Peter’s and St Seachnaill Church, Dunshaughlin, at 12:30pm.
Burial will take place afterwards in Derrockstown Burial Ground.
