G20 traffic restrictions: How to navigate Delhi NCR

New Delhi is gearing up to host the G20 Summit at Pragati Maidan’s Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on September 9 and 10.

With the arrival of heads of state of G20 nations and representatives of world organisations, the capital city will ramp up security and traffic restrictions will be put in place from 5 am on September 8 to 11:59 pm on September 10. All schools, restaurants, offices, and markets will be closed during the three days, and only the “bonafide residents, authorised vehicles and emergency vehicles” will be permitted to enter and exit areas.

The Delhi metro services will remain available for all commuters throughout the three days, but boarding and deboarding at the Supreme Court metro station will not be permitted from 5 am on September 9 to 11 pm on September 10.

In this report, Newslaundry answers the many questions staring the commuters in the National Capital Region: What are the controlled zones? Which routes are restricted? What are the alternative routes? How to reach the airport and railway stations?
