An Edinburgh-based national dance centre has announced unquantified job losses and cost cuts just weeks after the well-loved Edinburgh Filmhouse and International Film Festival ceased trading.
The Scottish National Dance Centre, known as Dance Base, is housed in Edinburgh’s Grassmarket and news of ‘painful’ reductions made headlines this week.
On Friday morning, the Scotsman reported that Dance Base had told the Scottish Parliament it may have to "reduce its workforce by half, ‘mothball’ parts of its building and cut back its work across the country", due to a dire financial outlook.
