The future of a Brisbane lawyer's corruption charge is set to be decided after a jury was discharged.
Sam Di Carlo, 66, had pleaded not guilty to one count of official corruption in Brisbane District Court.
However, his trial was abandoned after eight days following a series of rulings by Chief Judge Brian Devereaux on Friday that led to his decision to discharge the jury.
The case was adjourned on Monday for mention in three weeks' time to allow the prosecution to consider the proceeding.
Prosecutors had alleged at the trial that Di Carlo provided cash, meals and "sexual services from prostitutes" to then Ipswich mayor Paul Pisasale in return for assisting a property development.
It was alleged the Queensland barrister had a friendship with Pisasale and both became involved with Melbourne property developer Chris Pinzone.
Pinzone wanted to turn a 14-hectare block of land at Yamanto, south of Ipswich, into a commercial development around the end of 2016 until Pisasale resigned as mayor on June 6, 2017.
Chief Judge Devereaux discharged the jury after they reconvened on Monday.
The matter has been adjourned for mention on March 27.
Di Carlo remains on bail.
