Future expressways to provide for helipads from design stage for rushing accident victims to hospitals

NEW DELHI: All future expressways and major highways will have to allot helipad spaces during design stage itself at regular intervals to ensure speedier evacuation of accident victims.

The aviation ministry will undertake a pilot project by getting charter operator/s to deploy a chopper at AIIMS Rishikesh under “project sanjeevani” which will cover an area of 150 km for this purpose.
