Fury as killer Scottish mum who lured baby's dad to horrific death enjoys day out

A killer mum has been pictured enjoying a fun day out at a popular Scottish coastal destination.

Tasmin Glass lured her unborn baby's dad to his brutal death in Angus in 2018 when she was 20. Glass was sentenced to ten years behind bars but has recently been spotted enjoying herself at a country park near St Andrews.

Glass was joined by accomplices Steven Dickie and Callum Davidson, both 24, who were also jailed for the "savage and depraved" slaying of her former boyfriend Steven Donaldson in Kirriemuir.

As the Record reports, Glass was sent down for ten years in May 2019 for her part in the attack on offshore worker Steven.

However, the mum-of-one appeared in pictures taken from the country park on June 17, looking dramatically different from how she appeared in the dock four years ago.

A woman from Glass' hometown of Kirriemuir told the Record her mum noticed the killer smiling and waving and was horrified when she realised who she was, as the day-out has been met with fury among politicians and the community.

The woman, who asked not to be named, said: "I was absolutely shocked and disgusted that Tasmin had the audacity to be out and about looking like she didn't have a care in the world, especially so close to home.

"She was with a woman and a little boy and seemed happy. I actually didn't recognise her at first because she had changed her hair.

"It was my mum who first noticed her from back home. She was standing in the middle of the park eating ice cream and my mum shouted, 'That's Tasmin Glass', because she just couldn't believe she was out at such a public place. We were both disgusted.

"Tasmin looked horrified when my mum called her name out. She put her hand over her face and hurried off. She didn't say anything though."

The woman later spotted Tasmin in the background of a video she had taken of her children on a train ride at the park.

She added: "We had been next to her earlier and hadn't realised who she was. It wasn't until we started looking back at my videos that we noticed her. I was just so shocked because I didn't think she would have been allowed out so soon after what she did."

Ann Marie Cocozza, co-founder of the Families Affected by Murder and Suicide (FAMS) charity, said: "The decision to release Glass just four years into a 10 year sentence is absolutely disgraceful. It's the family of the victims who are effectively punished and left to suffer for the rest of their lives.

"Questions need to be asked about why a person, who has committed this heinous crime, should be allowed out on day release so soon. Has any thought been given for Steven's family?

"His loved ones have lost him forever and yet someone who helped take his life is being allowed to go about their life without serving the full sentence imposed by a judge."

During the trial in 2019 the court heard how Glass lured the offshore worker to his death as a nature reserve. She and her accomplices confronted Steven which led to his brutal execution after she had written off a car he had bought for her.

The trio arranged a meeting with Steven, who thought he was going to discuss the future of his relationship with Tasmin.

However, jurors heard how Dickie and Davidson arrived at the play park as Glass drove off before launching an attack on the victim. Steven was then driven to his death at the nearby Kinnordy Loch Reserve car park.

He was repeatedly struck on the head and body with a baseball bat during the attack. He was also hit on the head and neck with a "heavy bladed weapon" which cut his spinal cord in two place.

Steven suffered 26 stab wounds and head injuries before being placed on a car which was set on fire. A jury of eight women and seven men returned a majority guilty verdict of murder against Davidson and Dickie and a unaminious verdict of guilty to the lesser crime of culpable homicide against Glass.

Dickie, who was sentenced to 23 years, killed himself in his cell at Perth Prison in November 2019.

Russell Findlay, Scottish Conservative shadow community safety minister said: "It's hard to imagine how Steven Donaldson's family and friends will feel at seeing these pictures.

"They're entitled to ask whether it's safe for someone who has committed such a heinous crime to allowed out in the community, especially after such a short time.

"This makes a mockery of SNP claims about putting victims and their families at the heart of the justice system."

A Scottish Prison Service spokesperson said: "The SPS doesn't comment on individual prisoners."
