Eighty final year pupils have been banned from attending their high school's end of term prom after failing to meet "certain standards".
Parents of the youngsters who attend Winsford Academy in Cheshire and were excluded from the eagerly-anticipated event were emailed by the school confirming its decision to stop them attending.
The school prom takes place on Thursday, June 30 and to be able to attend, pupils had to meet a set of school standards throughout the year ranging from 'good attendance', 'punctuality' and 'positive attitudes to learning'.
