Rob Burrow's furious dad has slammed the 'scumbags' who vandalised his son's mural.
Red paint has been splattered over the artwork dedicated to former Leeds Rhino's captain and MND campaigner on the side of Leeds Beckett University's student's union.
Rob's father Geoff Burrow has been angered by the deliberate act of vandalism and has and called out the 'scumbags' who did it on social media.
It comes mere weeks after a Leeds charity was left "incredibly disappointed and saddened" when vandals damaged an exhibition featuring Burrow and other people affected by MND, for a second time in February.
Speaking on Twitter his Geoff said: "So vandals have now damaged my son Rob’s fantastic artwork at Leeds Beckett University. What sort of sick mind would do such a thing hey ??
"Sick cowards of people who haven’t the guts to do this sick behaviour in public! Hide away scumbags."
Others in the replies also called out the intolerable action. @Gary said: "An absolute disgrace."
@Ian said: "They need to get CCTV up now and get these people." @Karen said: "This is so upsetting. Hopefully karma will do its thing."
@Donna said: "There are no words to describe these kind of people." @Julie added: "Absolutely disgusting."
"Unbelievable Geoff, let’s hope the individuals have been caught on CCTV. What thing would do such a crime," @Roger said.
@Leanne commented: "How horrible and vile are people these days. I'm so sorry, it's very upsetting anything like that. Hope you are all ok?"
@John said: "So sorry to read this Geoff, respect for people and property is in decline I'm afraid. These are the same people who whinge the most if something happens to them."
This latest attack has seen a red substance splattered across the mural, originally painted three years ago by street artist Aske. Burrow was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2019 and has since raised millions of pounds towards research alongside his friend and former teammate Kevin Sinfield.
Both have been recognised with an MBE and OBE respectively and in January the pair was honoured with the Freedom of Leeds award by Leeds City Council.
