Emmerdale viewers were quick to call out Harriet after she betrayed Dawn in a surprise twist tonight. It hasn’t been an easy week for Dawn as she recently went to her best friend’s funeral.
Beth, who was a friend from her past life as a sex worker, died from a drug overdose. After the funeral, Jade invited Dawn back to her flat but things took a turn for the worse as she then found out Jade was still using, and her home was in a right state.
Things didn’t get any better as she later found a young girl who was sleeping in a dog basket. Confronting Jade, Dawn heard that the girl was Clemmie, daughter of their late friend, and Jade had promised to look after her.
Dawn soon realised that it wasn’t the right environment for a child and after a heated moment, she managed to get her out of her house. During tonight's episode of the ITV soap, Harriet and Dawn went back and forth as Harriet explained that it wasn’t a good idea to keep her.
Clemmie overheard the conversation and ran away. Billy soon found her and bonded over their shared experience of loss. Billy and Dawn discussed their next move, with Dawn wanting to keep Clemmie with them for longer.
However, a social worker arrived before they could make contact themselves and took her away in a police car. Upset Dawn said a sad goodbye to the girl, already feeling a connection and responsibility for her.
And it wasn't long before she learned that Harriet was the one who made a call to social services. Harriet tried to explain that she had done the right thing for everyone.
However Dawn was having none of it and told her she would never forgive her. Viewers didn’t seem to agree with Harriet's decision either as they went straight to social media to call her a “grass”.
