The GoFundMe appeal was launched by a family friend and has raised more than £4,000. Sean's devastated family described him as a "devoted dad and family man."
The page said: "On New Years Eve, Sean was tragically and suddenly killed in road traffic accident, leaving Zoe and their two boys reeling. Sean was well known and loved around the Little Sutton area and always had a smile for people.
"It’s a pain that no family should go through. Not only are they dealing with their grief and trying to make sense of it all, they are faced with trying to find money for the funeral costs, even the simplest service is more than we could have expected.
"Times are so, so hard for everyone at the moment and we cannot comprehend all the kind words, messages and floral tributes that have been laid. I am just asking if you can give anything, just a small amount, it will all add up and take some pressure off the family at the moment. Thank you so much for reading this and please share.
"And finally, give the ones you love a hug as much as you can. We never know when it will be our last."
Police said all parties involved stopped at the scene following the incident. Sean's family urge anyone with any information on the incident is to contact Cheshire Police by calling 101 and quoting IML1446529 or visit cheshire.police.uk/tell-us.
