The funeral details of two teenagers who died in a crash which led to riots in Cardiff have been confirmed. Kyrees Sullivan, 16, and 15-year-old Harvey Evans died after a crash in Ely while riding an electric bike on May 22. Their deaths were followed by widespread riots in the area which saw cars torched and missiles thrown.
A service for the best friends is to be held at 1pm on Thursday, July 6, in the Church of the Resurrection in Grand Avenue followed by a burial in Western Cemetery. Nearby Windsor Clive Primary School has told parents it will be closing for the day after holding talks with South Wales Police, Cardiff Council and the church.
The boys' families have asked that no motorcycles, Sur-Ron electric bikes or scooters are taken to the funeral. Kyrees and Harvey were riding a Sur-Ron e-bike and being followed by a police van moments before they crashed in Snowden Road, Ely, at about 6pm on Monday May 22.
