A fundraising appeal has been set up to revamp a play park near Strathaven.
Volunteers from the Gilmourton Playpark group are working alongside South Lanarkshire Council and Sandford and Upper Avondale Community Council to upgrade facilities.
One of the volunteers has created a JustGiving page, with the aim of raising £1000 towards plans - and £180 has been raised so far.
Varrie Loggie said: "South Lanarkshire Council provide the basics to the park upgrade including five pieces of play equipment, elevation of the play area site (30cm) and drainage to reduce the impact of flooding, new fencing, accessible gate, pathways and kerbs/edging.
"Other bids have been submitted to allow a wildlife area to be developed including tree planting and wild flower seeding, while the picnic area will have picnic benches, children's picnic table and a wheelchair accessible picnic bench.
"Gilmourton playpark group hope to raise additional funds to contribute to a potential phase two.
"These could include additional play equipment targeted at older children (not in the current plan) such as a larger slide, or a possible move of the football pitch to a dryer area of the park allowing the boggy section of the field to become a wildlife garden.
"Funds will both contribute to the ongoing development of our park and ensure we have access to and benefit from an outdoors community hub in the long term.
"Any donations you make are much appreciated and will be supporting your local community."
A spokesperson for South Lanarkshire Council said: "We work in partnership with groups who wish to take forward proposed projects that may benefit the local community. This proposed project is at a very early stage."
