Fundraiser for loved Edinburgh schoolboy who died playing football reaches £18k

A fundraiser set up in memory of 15-year-old Andrew MacKinnon who tragically lost his life on Tuesday has topped £18,000.

Members of the community and Andrew's friends and family have rallied together after the heartbreaking news of Andrew's passing on Tuesday while playing football at Forresters High School.

Emergency services rushed to the school grounds shortly after 3pm but were unable to save the teenager. Earlier on Wednesday, we reported how dad Andrew described his son as a "really popular boy" who loved his friends and playing football.
