Chaos at the fun fair as bricks thrown at police and schoolgirl arrested
Police have arrested two people after a night of chaos at a fun fair.
Officers were called to reports of a fight at Bootle fair, on Acorn Way, at around 8.05pm on Monday, April 11. At the scene they said a young woman had allegedly been assaulted by a young man, and he was kicked out of the event by security staff.
Sefton Community Policing Chief Inspector Tracie Trubshaw said: "We simply will not tolerate such appalling violence and anti-social behaviour in our communities and, while we have made several arrests, our extensive enquiries into the incident last night continue. This type of reckless behaviour not only puts the safety of officers at risk but also the safety of the public.

"Such antisocial behaviour and attacks on emergency service workers whilst carrying out their duties is unacceptable and we are working to identify and deal with those involved. I would ask parents and carers - do you know what your children are up to when they are out?"

Woman, 30, named as Gary Morgan murder suspect after 'absolute legend' stabbed to death
Police have charged a woman with the murder of a man killed in Everton.
Emergency services attended Lavan Close at around 11:30pm, on Sunday, April 10, following reports of a stabbing. Gary Morgan, 36, was found with a puncture wound to the side of his body.
A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "We can confirm a 30-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of a man in Everton. Emma Walsh, of Lavan Close, Everton, was charged with the murder of 36 year-old Gary Morgan."

Name revealed for new Baltic Triangle train station
The name of a Merseyrail station set to be built in the Baltic Triangle area of Liverpool has been announced.
Liverpool City Region Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram has revealed that the name of the station will be Liverpool Baltic. This follows a public vote, with over 1000 submissions, to name the former St James' stop.
The decision to rename the reopened stop was made to avoid confusion with St James station in Liverpool city centre. Liverpool Baltic is expected to open in 2025.
