Fuming family hit out at Deliveroo after less than half of their KFC order arrives

A family were left fuming after less than half of their KFC order arrived during a celebratory dinner after ordering via Deliveroo.

Steve Hunt and his hungry family were left infuriated after ordering a mega £36 deal from KFC, which includes 30 pieces of chicken, only to end up with three pieces and some "burnt scraps."

After Steve, his wife Syreeta, and two sons Myro and Sonny, were left starving and out of pocket, the angry dad got in touch with the restaurant and demanded the correct order be re-delivered.

The Mirror reports how the family were celebrating Steve's new job as a wellbeing coordinator and were looking forward to the treat, only to be let down when it eventually arrived.

The family had ordered a £36.99 Matchday Party Bucket which is supposed to contain 30 pieces of chicken including wings, fillets, popcorn chicken and sides.

Dad-of-two Steve, from Norwich, said: "I had just got a new job and we were celebrating with a KFC.

"Me, my wife and the boys - Myro, 15, and Sonny, 12 - were starving and our mouths were watering at the prospect of a delivery from the Colonel.

"When it arrived, my wife, Syreeta, shouted from the kitchen asking why I had ordered just for myself. I went through and looked at the bucket - which has three bits of chicken in it and a couple of burnt scraps.

"I went to open the bag and all that was there was a tiny bottle of orange juice, which we hadn't even ordered."

KFC's Matchday Party Bucket, is supposed to consist of a 14-piece party bucket along with eight mini fillets and hot wings, as well as popcorn chicken, six portions of fries, a large container of coleslaw, gravy, and a 1.5 litre bottle of Pepsi.

Steve claims he was left frustrated by his attempts to contact Deliveroo and KFC. He claims he was told that as the order has been "delivered and accepted", he was not entitled to a refund, forcing the family to fork out another £30 on McDonald's instead.

Steve added: "Colonel Sanders has really let us down - this has got to be the worst culinary miscarriage of justice of all time."

A spokesman for Deliveroo has since apologised to Steve and his family, giving them a full refund as well as £50 in credit.

The spokesman said: "We're sorry to hear that Mr Hunt didn't have a great experience with his order. We've now refunded Mr Hunt and apologise for the disappointment - and would like to wish him all the best in his new job."
