Fuming dad said he had to wait eight minutes for McDonald's order

A father of two has said that he was left fuming after being forced to wait for eight minutes for a straight forward McDonald’s order.

The dad had taken his two children for a bite to eat at the famous fast food restaurant for a quick treat but was angered at the length of time he was forced to wait.

Imran Patel, 46, says that he had popped in to grab two McFlurrys and a Milkshake as they traditionally would not take long for them to fix up.

However he said that a number of online orders for deliveries from Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats meant they took priority, the Mirror reports.

At first he said that he was made to wait for at least 15 minutes at the Dewsbury chain but a later review of the CCTV footage showed that the family only stood there for eight minutes.

Imran told Metro: "I’d only gone in there for two McFlurrys and a milkshake, with it just being drinks it should only take five minutes for them to get it ready."

But alas this was not to be for the dad and his kids were made to wait for almost double that time for their items.

The father also claimed that the store barely had any customers inside but there were a number of delivery drivers waiting for food to take away.

He felt that the presence of the delivery drivers meant he was completely ignored as the staff were rushing around to fulfil their online orders but did not show the same attention to his items.

A spokesman for McDonald’s said: "Customer satisfaction is a priority of ours and we place great emphasis on providing a fantastic experience to everyone who orders at McDonald’s, be it in-store, through the drive-thru or via our delivery partners.

"In any instance that we don’t meet those high standards, we’d encourage customers to speak with the restaurant team to deal with their concerns immediately."
