A furious holidaymaker is taking one of the world's biggest airlines to court after his luggage was lost on a dream wedding trip abroad.
Matthew Santos was forced to fork out £950 on clothes for a wedding in Italy, plus three weeks holidaying in the US.
Now, the 32-year-old is suing airline KLM after he arrived at the holiday destination with no suitcase.
He said KLM had admitted losing his luggage, but only offered him £250 in compensation.
Mathew, of Largs, Ayrshire, has lodged a claim at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court in a bid to recover the rest of the cash.
The news comes shortly after a tourist from the Netherlands flew with KLM and was left without her luggage for more than three months.
Kristen, who chose not to share her full name, told Edinburgh Live that she flew to Scotland in June to travel the North Coast 500 route with a group of friends.
But when she returned home to Schiphol airport in Amsterdam, her suitcase was nowhere to be found.
Kristen had contacted both KLM, the airline she flew with, and and Swissport, who handle KLM's baggage.
Taking to Twitter, the disappointed tourist wrote to both companies, saying: "My luggage has been missing for 3.5 months.
"Checked in @KLM desk at Edinburgh Airport on June 5.
"After three calls to KLM, the case was "escalated". Still, no feedback provided. When visiting the Baggage Repatriation Facility, it was closed."
Like Matthew, Kristen had trouble receiving compensation from KLM to recover all of her losses.
She told Edinburgh Live: "I am only able to get an insurance claim or KLM claim if I have all receipts. I do not have receipts for a lot of items such as underwear, cosmetics, basic t-shirts etc.
"I would have to pay for my lost luggage myself.
"I have told KLM multiple times that they should send someone to check the storage hall at Edinburgh for all missing luggage and they tell me 'it is not that simple'."
Kristen, says she packed "half" of her closet on the trip as she was aware of the varying weather conditions in Scotland.
She said: "I packed a variety of outfits and layers (half of my closet actually). Short sleeves, long sleeves, hiking shoes, soft shells, rain covers etc."
A Swissport spokesperson said: “We understand this is a really frustrating situation and apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.”
KLM has been approached for comment.
