Heavy rain is expected in Nottingham as a yellow weather warning from the Met Office for snow and ice expires. The agency had issued the warning on Monday (March 13) lasting until 10am on Tuesday.
The warning was in addition to Monday's yellow alert for high winds. Much of the UK was covered by weather warnings on Monday, with warnings of an impact to travel because of the conditions.

But the Met Office says early rain, sleet and hill snow will be quickly clearing southeastwards, leaving a bright morning. Wintry showers will then move in during the afternoon though, with winds strengthening.
Heavy rain is also predicted in Nottingham later in the day, with the Met Office then forecasting a cold and frosty start to Wednesday morning. Below is the hour-by-hour forecast from the Met Office for Nottingham on Tuesday (March 14).
